BENTO BOX – A FEAST FOR THE EYES
AND TASTEBUDS
To celebrate the end of term, the
students from Year 3-6 took part in a competition, designing a Japanese style
Bento box to promote healthy eating at school.
A traditional Bento box is a
single portion take-out or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. The box
usually holds rice or noodles, fish or meat and has pickled or cooked
vegetables.
Students were incredibly creative
in making their Bento boxes with pandas, Pokémon and sea creatures featuring in
the designs.
Students from Year 3-6 learn
Japanese with a specialist languages teacher for 40 minutes each week.
